Dear Neighbors

Dear Neighbors,

Please be patient with us while we adjust to lawn care Utah-style. The only other yards we have been responsible for were both in Arizona, where the grass is limited to postage-stamp size:

Is it any wonder that we are having a hard time keeping up with the mowing of a lawn this size?:

Especially when it rains all day every Saturday? We never had to consider the weather when arranging to do needed yard work in Arizona. We are learning and hope someday that our yard will not be the eyesore of the neighborhood!
Regards,
The Cranes
P.S. Niles works his tail off doing yard work and we appreciate it. It just never seems to be enough. Our yard actually looks pretty good right now since we dedicated our FHE this week to doing yard work. So we really are trying, O.K.? Also, Niles has been removing tree stumps and bushes so, never fear, that big pile of brush in our backyard will be hauled off to the dump soon.

I know how you feel. Our motto has been we are here to make everyone feel better! You'll get it figured out!

Our yard is the size of a postage stamp, and it still doesn't look so nice! Finding a day to mow when it is not raining (or was just raining the day before) has been quite a challenge lately! (We made Tanner do it yesterday afternoon right after school--thank goodness, since it started pouring about an hour later.) We are comforted by the fact that a lot of the other people around us have the same problem!

I hear you. We are always behind on our yard work. Your yard looks beautiful in the pictures though.

That looks great to me! You should see our next door neighbors :(

Oooh! I did see your neighbor's yard last time I was there. It is horrible--I was feeling better that ours doesn't look that bad. I should have included in the blog that the photos of our yard in Utah were taken when we took the kids to see the house--before we bought it. It was being cared for by a landscaping company at the time! That's why the yard looks so nice in the photos!
